Miriam Haskell

Miriam Haskell design information has been added to Chapter Two. It was fun to put together and I hope you find it concise and helpful. Although Miriam Haskell and Frank Hess frequently traveled to Europe for fashion updates and to source materials, the Haskell designs, especially those made in the 1940s, are American. They are innovative designs using unconventional materials to create distinctive jewelry.

The “Signature Look” developed by Haskell and Frank Hess, which relies on detailed designs often using seed beads to cover the metal components (tapestry beading) is refreshingly different from the cast designs offered by other high-end brands at the time.

Hobé is the next brand to be added to Chapter Two. Hobé began in France and happily expanded to the United States providing collectors with many “old world” style treasures.

Happy Collecting..

Love,

Julie
