Good morning,
I’m happy to announce the Introduction for Chapter Three and the first brand – Kenneth J. Lane – is posted! I hope you enjoy them. They were fun to write.
The Kenneth J. Lane jewelry brand began in the mid-1960s and continues today. His designs are distinctive, innovative, and well-made. The early 1960s pieces are becoming scarce and expensive; however, many of his wonderful newer designs are available, affordable, and remain in great condition for today’s beginning and intermediate collectors. The QVC pieces, although often mass produced, are well made and beautifully designed.
This is my current favorite Kenneth Lane set. I purchased the faux jade necklace online in a “lucky” auction buy. When I received it in the mail, I was beyond pleased with its quality; so much so, I immediately tried to purchase matching earrings and, if available, a bracelet.
Several years later, I finally found and purchased the earrings shown in the photo. They certainly appear to be from the same design group. I have never seen a matching bracelet, but I’m continuing to be hopeful I will one day find one.
The construction of both pieces is unique and ties them together to the same group.
Sneak Peek: Do you have any Bob Mackie jewelry? I think the designs are interesting and fun, so it is the next brand to be included in Chapter Three.
Happy Collecting,
Julie
It is too pretty today to sit at a computer, but I’ll try to have the Bob Mackie brand posted next week.
