It is fun to find and purchase attractive signed vintage earrings in antique stores, flea markets, and antique festivals. Clip and screw back earrings are still affordable and available providing a fun shopping experience. I always look for them even in an expensive antique store.
Recently I purchased this pair of 1980s – 1990s Christian Dior earrings at a local antique festival. They are a lovely design with two tear-drop shaped amethyst rhinestones set point-to-point. Dior from this era, unlike the 1960s Dior, remains affordable so I hope to one day add a matching necklace.
These pretty earrings, in mint condition, will live in my Dior earring box until I find additional pieces, or I decide to sell them. They will have great company.
I purchased the following Dior art-deco style earrings about two years ago. The matching necklace is now available on eBay which is fun to see. The price of the necklace is prohibitive, but it does illustrate the potential value of post Dior – with great design qualities.
The following Dior earrings from the 1980s – 1990s were a flea market find so very, very affordable. They are nice, but as you can see do not have the eye-catching design traits of the first two pair.
My Dior box also holds an interesting pair of 1950s earrings signed Dior by Kramer shown below. The rose, peridot and coral colors are unusual. Pink and orange are not usually found together but the combination clearly works in this set.
About six years ago I found and purchased a Dior set in its original box from the 1980s-1990s era. The earrings are beautiful and unusual. It is wonderful they were not separated from the necklace; however, had they been separated, I would have purchased them anyway due to their great design.
I want to end this blog with one more interesting Dior design and interesting Dior signature from 1963. I do not collect Dior, so it is the only 1960s era piece in my collection. The pin features Lucite stones created to look like turquoise with matrix. It is not something I would ever wear, but the pin remains in my collection due to the dated Dior signature and the quality, detailed construction.
I hope you enjoyed the blog and a look at some interesting Dior designs.
Happy Collecting,
Love,
Julie
