After many weeks of work, I finished the Schreiner Jewelry Chapter in Collecting Costume Jewelry 404. It can be accessed from the Table of Contents under Chapter Two. It is a primer for beginning collectors on the innovative and often distinctive Schreiner designs and recognizable Schreiner jewelry construction traits.
The Schreiner designs featured in this chapter are from my collection. All but one set (the rose Lucite set) were purchased many, many years ago, long before Schreiner jewelry soared in popularity and in price. Even then, Schreiner jewelry was scarce and generally higher priced than other brands.
A wonderful book on Schreiner jewelry, Schreiner Masters of Twentieth-Century Costume Jewelry by Carole Tanenbaum and Eve Townsend, published by G Arts New York, NY in 2017 is largely responsible for steering collectors to Schreiner jewelry. Once collectors discovered the beauty and quality of the jewelry the prices began to soar.
I love my Schreiner jewelry, especially the cross necklace.
